Bengaluru Bank Deputy Manager Held Over 2.8 Kg Gold Theft Linked to Online Betting

Police say they plan to seek court orders to recover jewellery pledged with private financiers.

  • The accused, identified as Kiran Kumar, allegedly exploited authorised locker access between June 2025 and January 2026 and pledged the jewellery with firms including Manappuram and Muthoot.
  • About 700 grams have been recovered so far, a case under BNS Section 316 is registered, and customers are urged to verify pledged assets as the audit and recovery efforts continue.
