Overview
- Bending Spoons agreed to acquire Airtable in an all-cash deal that values the company at about $1.285 billion enterprise value and roughly $2.25 billion equity after accounting for Airtable’s net cash, the firms said Tuesday.
- The transaction was unanimously approved by both boards and is expected to close later in 2026 subject to regulatory review and customary closing conditions, with both companies operating independently until the deal closes.
- Airtable reported roughly $480 million in annual recurring revenue as of June 2026, serving more than 500,000 organizations including about 80% of the Fortune 100, and has been developing AI orchestration tools such as Superagent.
- The purchase is Bending Spoons’ first acquisition since its July 2026 Nasdaq listing and follows a long-standing playbook of buying known digital products at discounts, trimming costs, adding AI features, and retaining them rather than selling.
- The price represents a steep drop from Airtable’s 2021 peak valuation near $11–11.7 billion—about an 89% decline—which highlights broader recalibration in software multiples and signals potential consolidation and investor scrutiny as the deal is integrated.
