Overview
- Nadine Nugent, 35, has been charged with seven offences, including three counts of common assault, a threat to kill, failing to obey the pilot, threatening or abusive behaviour, and being drunk on an aircraft.
- Charge particulars allege assaults on two women and a man aboard EasyJet flight EZY3077 while the aircraft was stationary at Hurghada airport.
- Defence counsel told Antrim Magistrates Court that territorial issues arise as most alleged acts took place on the tarmac in Egypt, engaging questions under the Tokyo Convention.
- The case was adjourned to 9 December to fix a date for a “five plus one” contested trial, and the court was told there will be no witness agreement before the contest.
- The defence said Nugent will dispute all allegations and noted she has been suspended from social work since 2023 for unrelated matters.
