Beaconsfield Crash: Family Mourns 15-Year-Old as Police Probe Continues

Thames Valley Police have referred the case to the IOPC over the presence of a nearby police vehicle.

Overview

  • Lexi Catlin, 15, died at the scene after a collision involving a motorbike, a white Toyota Yaris and a grey Toyota Hilux on the A355 at about 9:20pm on March 13.
  • The motorbike rider, a 16-year-old from Beaconsfield, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, with a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl from High Wycombe also arrested on suspicion.
  • Police said a police vehicle was travelling on the opposite carriageway and was not using blue lights at the time of the crash.
  • Investigators, led by Oliver Cahill-Smith, are appealing for witnesses and asking drivers to review dash-cam footage from the area to assist the inquiry.
  • Her family issued a public tribute, requested privacy, and planned a private event on what would have been her 16th birthday.
