Overview
- A British Board of Film Classification survey of 2,000 UK adults named Home Alone the favourite Christmas film with 20% of the vote.
- Love Actually placed second on 9%, followed by It’s a Wonderful Life on 8% and Elf on 7%.
- On Die Hard’s status, 44% said it is not a Christmas film, 38% said it is, 17% were undecided, and 5% selected it as their favourite.
- Viewing habits skew to December, with 43% saying that is the acceptable start for Christmas films, 13% starting in November, and 8% watching them year-round.
- More than half of respondents, at 53%, reported checking age ratings for family viewing, a point the BBFC highlighted in releasing the research.
