Battlefield 6 Season 4 Brings Naval Combat and Top Gun Crossover

A phased update restoring large-scale sea warfare with two-seater jets plus licensed Top Gun pilots voiced by their original actors.

Overview

  • Season 4's Phase One, which begins July 21, adds Tsuru Reef — Battlefield 6's largest map — two water vehicles (RCB-90 patrol boat and RHIB transport) and four new weapons including a long-range Desert Tech HTI sniper rifle.
  • Phase Two is set for August 18 and will introduce the Top Gun crossover with two-seater jets styled on the F-14 and F/A-18, a Wake Island remake that spawns teams from aircraft carriers, and Top Gun characters voiced by Miles Teller, Lewis Pullman and Charles Parnell.
  • Carrier Strike is a limited-time, reworked return of BF4's Carrier Assault that has teams use land, air and sea assets to sink the opposing carrier, with Battlefield Studios saying the mode has been redesigned for BF6.
  • Gauntlet and REDSEC will get Top Gun missions such as Fighter Sweep that let players pilot and man guns in the new two-seater jets, and Portal will support jet-only servers for focused air play.
  • The season adds quality-of-life features like custom lobbies, admin tools and an initial Spectator rollout as part of a push to address player complaints about small maps and to broaden large-scale play after the game's record launch.
