Battlefield 6 Opens One-Week Free Trial March 17–24 Via RedSec

The week serves as a Season 2 sampler through RedSec to re-engage lapsed players following recent Battlefield Studios layoffs.

Overview

  • From March 17 to 24, Battlefield 6 is free to try on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC when accessed through the free Battlefield RedSec client.
  • The trial features three playlists—Nightfall, All-Out Warfare, and Casual Breakthrough—across four maps: Hagental Base, Contaminated, Eastwood, and Mirak Valley.
  • Nightfall debuts low-light battles on the new Hagental Base map with Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, and Domination, encouraging use of night vision and flashlight attachments.
  • Casual Breakthrough limits lobbies to 16 real players with bots filling remaining slots, reduces XP from bot interactions, and rotates across Hagental Base, Contaminated, and Eastwood.
  • Progression is shared between RedSec and the full game so trial unlocks carry over, as the free week arrives after staffing cuts and reports of declining player activity.
