Overview
- Battlefield Studios revealed Thursday a yearlong roadmap for Seasons 3–5 that lays out new maps, features, and a rebuild of competitive play.
- Season 3 in May brings Railway to Golmud, billed as the game’s largest map at nearly four times Mirak Valley, plus the Cairo Bazaar rework and REDSEC solo queues and initial ranked play with leaderboards; REDSEC is Battlefield’s free battle royale mode.
- Season 4 in July adds naval warfare in Battlefield 6 and REDSEC with Tsuru Reef and a reimagined Wake Island, operational aircraft carriers and a dynamic wave system, alongside a spectator mode and custom lobbies.
- Across 2026 the studio plans leaderboards, proximity chat, Platoons, and a true server browser with persistent servers so players can find and host stable communities, though many features lack firm dates.
- Season 5 is set to drop three maps in the fall, including at least one location new to the series, as the roadmap answers complaints about small maps and missing tools and tees up Open and Elite competitive series later in the year.
