Basque-Language Relay Korrika Sets Gipuzkoa Route Ahead of Bilbao Finish

The finish features the public reveal of the event’s annual secret message.

Overview

  • Korrika, a multi-day relay celebrating the Basque language, is moving through Gipuzkoa’s interior before crossing into Bizkaia for a Bilbao finale.
  • The route follows a town-to-town handoff of a baton, with planned stops through Debagoiena and on to Beasain, Ordizia, Legorreta, Alegia and Tolosa.
  • From there the relay continues through Errezil, Azpeitia, Zestoa, Azkoitia, Elgoibar and Soraluz, reaching Eibar before exiting Gipuzkoa via Ermua.
  • Organizers plan to reveal the author and the full text of the year’s secret message at Bilbao City Hall, with concerts by LaBasu, Añube, Bele and Mixerabliak and other public events.
  • Earlier stages drew large crowds in coastal towns and in Donostia, and local outlets have published precise schedules that signal strong community turnout for the remaining legs.
