Basque Government Poll Puts PNV on 29 Seats, Opening Two-Seat Lead Over EH Bildu

The projection points to the PNV–PSE pact retaining an absolute majority in the 75-seat chamber.

Overview

  • EH Bildu is projected to remain on 27 seats, matching its current representation.
  • PSE would hold 11 seats and the PP 6, with Sumar and Vox on 1 each, giving the PNV–PSE bloc 40 seats overall.
  • The shift reflects improved numbers for the PNV in Gipuzkoa, where EH Bildu would take 11 seats to the PNV’s 10, while the PNV would win Bizkaia and lead in votes in Álava with an 8–8 seat split.
  • Estimated vote share stands at 36.3% for the PNV, 31.7% for EH Bildu, 13.6% for the PSE, 8.4% for the PP, 3.2% for Vox and 3.0% for Sumar.
  • Fieldwork ran November 11–14 with 3,030 telephone interviews, revising a June government poll that put the two nationalist parties level on 28 seats.
