- BASF and the Telangana government signed a Letter of Intent to set up a Global Service Hub and a Global Digital Hub in Hyderabad.
- The centers are slated to start operations in the second quarter of 2026 with phased hiring toward a 3,000-person workforce.
- Both centers will be run by BASF Global Business Services Private Limited, will operate as separate legal entities, and will support finance, HR, supply chain, regulatory services, and in-house consulting worldwide.
- BASF said a competitive multi-country evaluation led it to Hyderabad, which will join its hub network in Berlin, Kuala Lumpur, and Montevideo.
- The state's IT minister said Hyderabad added over 75 Global Capability Centres last year and set goals of 100 more and 100,000 jobs this year, citing initiatives such as AIKAM, a proposed 200-acre AI City, a Quantum Hub, and 1BioLab.
