A locally sourced effort at the city's gastronomy institute spotlights student training with donated beef from Provacuno.

Overview

  • More than 1,500 portions of traditional beef fricandó and accompanying dishes have been cooked for six social dining rooms across Barcelona.
  • Eleven chefs, including Michelin-starred Paco Pérez, Joel Castanyé, the Torres brothers, Juanlu Fernández and Albert Raurich, led the main dish.
  • Students from the Institut de Gastronomia i Restauració prepared starters, first courses and desserts as part of hands-on training.
  • Ingredients were supplied through the municipal markets network, with artisan bread provided by the Institut dels Aliments de Barcelona.
  • Mayor Jaume Collboni attended the cooking session and publicly thanked Provacuno, the chefs and the students as part of the city's Barcelona, el corazón de la Navidad campaign.
