Overview
- The municipality confirmed the Grand Départ will run on July 2, 4 and 5 with a teams presentation at the Sagrada Família, a 19 km team time trial from Parc del Fòrum to Montjuïc, and a Tarragona→Montjuïc stage.
- Barcelona released a full mobility and security plan that deploys about 900 Guardia Urbana officers, purchases roughly 2,300 crowd barriers to form about 70 km of perimeter fencing, and establishes more than 50 controlled pedestrian crossings.
- Race circuits will be closed to private vehicles during set windows, with street cuts beginning around midday and full circuit closures at about 13:30, then progressive reopenings each evening with normal service expected by July 6.
- Public transport will be heavily adjusted: metro capacity will rise by roughly 40% (focused on lines 1 and 5), multiple bus lines and Bicing stations will be suspended on parts of the route, and the Sagrada Família will be closed to visitors on July 2 for the team presentation.
- Officials rerouted the July 5 stage to avoid Collserola because of African swine fever restrictions, a change that altered the entry into Barcelona and highlights how public-health rules can force operational shifts for major events.
