Overview
- Organizers confirmed in early July that Barbara Schöneberger will present the TV gala again on 9 September, continuing her long-running role as the public face of the prize.
- The Deutscher Fernsehpreis will be held across two nights in Cologne on 8–9 September, with the creative-industry ceremony, the Nacht der Kreativen, set for 8 September and hosted for the first time by Jan Köppen.
- The main TV gala will move from the MMC/Coloneum to the Confex‑Center at KölnMesse and will be broadcast by RTL time‑shifted at 20:15 on 9 September.
- Organizational changes include RTL taking editorial lead, Riverside Entertainment producing both nights, Petra Müller’s Ständiges Sekretariat coordinating jury work, and Stephan Lamby replacing Wolf Bauer as jury chair.
- Eligible productions cover fiction, entertainment and information released between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026, and the prize continues to recognize work from both linear broadcasters and streaming partners such as Disney+, Netflix and Prime Video.
