- Authorities arrested the holder of the Turkish pistol, identified as Wakeel Ahmed Theekri of Kamalkot, Uri, and registered FIR No. 70/2026 under Sections 7 and 25 of the Arms Act at Baramulla police station.
- Following the arrest, officers conducted a sanctioned search at Kalsi Hardu, Kamalkot, and seized a Chinese-made pistol, two magazines, and 13 live rounds which were taken as evidence.
- The initial interception was carried out jointly by Baramulla Police and the 52 Rashtriya Rifles, and local officials including an executive magistrate were present for the follow-up search to ensure legal procedure.
- Police say the recovered foreign-made weapons suggest a wider unlawful arms network and that investigators will work to trace the weapons' source, intended use, and any other people involved.
