Bankers Secure 2.1% May Raise, Entry Pay Reaches $2.437 Million

The rise matches INDEC inflation through May and signals that monthly CPI-linked adjustments are preserving bank workers' real pay.

Overview

  • On Tuesday the Asociación Bancaria and employer chambers agreed a 2.1% salary update for May that will be paid with May payroll and lifts the sector's total entry remuneration to $2,437,232.92.
  • The new entry figure is made up of a basic salary of $2,368,759.48 plus a profit-sharing (ROE) payment of $68,473.44 that is unique to the banking agreement.
  • The 2.1% increase applies to all gross monthly payments, both remunerative and non-remunerative, and covers conventional and non‑conventional additional payments.
  • With the May correction bank workers have a cumulative 14.7% gain since December 2025, the same rise reported by INDEC for that period, which means real wages have remained neutral so far this year.
  • The deal fixes a temporary minimum Día del Bancario payment at $2,111,667.14 and keeps the paritaria's monthly, CPI-linked review mechanism in place, so future adjustments will track inflation and determine short-term purchasing power.
