Bank of America Reaches $2.25 Million Settlement Over 7‑Eleven ATM Fees

The case now moves to a final-approval hearing in August.

Overview

  • Bank of America agreed to pay $2.25 million to resolve claims it charged more than one out-of-network fee for a single balance inquiry at 7‑Eleven ATMs.
  • The settlement has preliminary court approval, and the judge set a final-approval hearing for Aug. 21, 2026.
  • Eligible customers are U.S. account holders who used FCTI-owned ATMs inside 7‑Eleven from May 1, 2018 to Nov. 16, 2021 and saw multiple balance-inquiry fees in one visit.
  • Current customers who received notice will be paid automatically, and past customers must file a claim on the settlement website, with opt-outs or objections due in early July.
  • People who were paid in a related 2024 case against FCTI are excluded, and each payout will depend on costs and how many valid claims come in.
