Reports on Aug. 27–28, 2026 say the Bangladesh Cricket Board is actively seeking a January 2027 window to host India and has opened talks with its government to secure necessary approvals.
The BCCI has not issued a formal confirmation although a BCCI source quoted by ANI indicated the series is likely to be held in January, which remains unverified publicly.
India’s home schedule already lists Zimbabwe (Jan 3–9, 2027) and Australia (Jan 21–Mar 3, 2027), leaving only a brief gap in early January that would require careful rescheduling for a full three-ODI and three-T20I tour.
The series has been postponed repeatedly from August 2025 to September 2026 and now to a proposed January 2027, with reporting linking delays to strained political ties and board-level disputes including the Mustafizur Rahman episode and Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup withdrawal.
