Banco Nación Offers Fast App Loan for Retirees With High Interest

Quick app access to cash comes with steep annual and total costs that can strain low-income pensioners' budgets.

Overview

  • Banco Nación confirmed Friday and Saturday that it is offering the Adelanto de Haberes advance through the BNA+ app with funds credited in minutes to pension accounts.
  • The advance is limited to people who receive their pensions through Banco Nación and who accept automatic debit, with amounts ranging from ARS 50,000 to ARS 1,000,000 subject to each user's credit capacity.
  • Repayment occurs in a single automatic debit when the next ANSES pension deposit posts, so actual loan durations depend on timing and can be very short, with examples cited of about 10 to 25 days.
  • The bank publishes a fixed nominal annual rate (TNA) of 91%, a TEA of 140.51%, and representative CFT figures (CFT TNA 110.11% and CFT TEA 189.76%), with those totals including capital, interest and VAT and raising the effective short-term cost for borrowers.
  • The product renews monthly for qualifying account holders and offers quick liquidity but creates a risk that vulnerable retirees will incur repeated high financing costs through automatic monthly advances.
