- The bank has started enabling SPEI interbank transfers inside its official mobile app, a feature that began appearing for some accounts this week.
- Activation is phased so some users see a new “Send money” or “Transfers” option while many others still only have balance and movement queries, and the bank has not given a single date for full rollout.
- To use the transfer function users need the latest app version, an active user/password, a linked phone number and internet access, and the app generates a digital receipt after each SPEI operation.
- Officials say the app will also add CoDi QR payments and DiMo phone-number transfers as part of the 2026 modernization, with CoDi enabling QR payments and DiMo letting people send money using a phone number instead of a CLABE.
- The change aims to let millions of social-program beneficiaries move funds without visiting branches, but authorities warn about fraud risk and advise downloading only the official app and never sharing NIP, passwords or codes.
