Overview

  • The Banco del Bienestar mobile app was updated to enable interbank SPEI transfers around the clock and to process CoDi QR payments and DiMo phone‑number transfers, a change reported on Friday.
  • The bank set a 1,500‑peso daily transfer limit through the app as a fraud‑prevention control and advises users never to share NIPs or passwords.
  • The feature is available on iOS and Android but is being rolled out in phases so some users must update the app or wait to see the new “Send Money” option.
  • Transfers can be sent to a wide set of national banks including BBVA, Citibanamex, Banorte, Santander, HSBC, Inbursa, Banco Azteca and others listed by the bank.
  • The change could benefit more than 25 million beneficiaries of federal programs by reducing branch lines and cash handling and may speed broader financial inclusion if rollout and daily limits prove manageable.
