Baltimore County Volunteer Softball Coach Indicted on Federal Child-Exploitation Charges

Prosecutors say the case stems from months of alleged grooming documented in seized phone records.

Overview

  • Michael Joseph Pusateri, 59, of Nottingham, is charged with producing, receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material, as well as coercion and enticement of a minor.
  • Charging documents allege explicit texts, coerced sexual images and arranged meetings in business parking lots between April and August 2025, including sexual contact on July 25.
  • Detectives say a seized phone showed more than 400 calls with the teen from March 21 through July 25, and a child abuse protective order was filed in late July and finalized last month.
  • Pusateri has coached in Parkville, Middle River, Overlea-Fullerton and at Kenwood High School; he was removed from volunteer roles and barred from county school property.
  • The case was brought under DOJ’s Project Safe Childhood, investigators are seeking additional victims, and if convicted he faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years on the production count.
