Overview
- The Baltic Power wind farm, which fed its first turbine into Poland’s national grid on Friday, July 10, 2026, has begun phased commissioning with live power now reaching homes and businesses.
- Project construction is well advanced with 54 of 76 15 MW turbines installed and all inter-array and export cables laid across roughly 350 kilometres.
- Remaining work includes completing the final turbine installations, offshore and onshore inspections, independent certification, occupancy permits and an electricity generation licence before commercial operation.
- When finished the 1.2 GW farm is expected to produce about 4 TWh a year, enough for more than 1.5 million households and to cut around 2.8 million tonnes of CO2 annually versus conventional generation.
- The project is co-owned by Northland Power (49%) and ORLEN (51%), is backed by a 25-year Contract for Difference, and is presented by ORLEN as part of a wider PLN 380 billion energy investment and domestic supply-chain push.
