Ballerina Farm Defends Raw Milk Record, Denies Recall After Questions Over 2025 Testing

Local records reported by KPCW cite elevated coliform and two violations last spring, a finding the company disputes.

Overview

  • In a Feb. 10 statement, the influencer-run dairy said its raw milk met required state tests and that no products were recalled, adding that any noncompliant batches were discarded.
  • The company says it voluntarily ended raw milk sales on Aug. 11, 2025 due to regulatory, operational and economic factors and now sells only pasteurized dairy.
  • Hannah Neeleman told followers the halt was a business decision and said the raw milk operation was never shut down by regulators.
  • KPCW, citing Utah Department of Agriculture and Food records, previously reported elevated coliform levels and two violations in late May and early June 2025 and said raw sales stopped afterward.
  • Utah requires a permit and monthly testing for raw milk, and state and federal health agencies warn unpasteurized dairy can carry pathogens such as E. coli, Salmonella and Listeria; Daniel Neeleman has said they plan a separate facility for future raw-milk production.
