Baldur’s Gate 3 Expands With Astarion Prequel Novel Set for September 2026

  • Baldur’s Gate 3: Astarion by T. Kingfisher arrives September 29 as a prequel focused on the character’s years under the vampire lord Cazador Szarr.
  • Senior writer Stephen Rooney consulted to maintain lore consistency, and Penguin Random House Audio will release an audiobook narrated by Astarion’s actor Neil Newbon.
  • The slate also features a Necromancy of Thay replica notebook on July 21, an official coloring book on August 11, and an official cookbook with 65 recipes on November 3.
  • Publishers signaled more books in 2027 and beyond, and the move extends the 2023 hit’s world alongside other projects such as an HBO series in development.
