Overview
- The Letter of Collaboration was announced Friday at DALO Industry Days in Herning and formalises work to create a joint UK–Denmark industrial approach for possible new Royal Danish Navy frigates.
- Babcock and Danske Flådeskibe will jointly explore frigate solutions plus programme delivery and through‑life support, using the Arrowhead 140 lineage as the technical starting point.
- Danske Flådeskibe brings OMT Group, Terma, PensionDanmark and Semco Maritime together and plans to fabricate modules at multiple Danish sites with final assembly at Semco’s Port of Esbjerg facilities.
- Babcock says the proposed industrial model could support about 2,000 direct and indirect jobs in Denmark, and the companies stress this work is at the collaborative planning stage rather than a signed procurement contract.
- The move returns a British export design to its Danish roots after the Iver Huitfeldt class and follows other Babcock memoranda at the same event that link shipbuilding plans with uncrewed systems and modular mission kit.
