  • The ICC updated its Test player rankings on Wednesday, August 12, moving Babar Azam up five places to No. 10 after his scores of 88 and an unbeaten 24 in the Port of Spain win.
  • Recalled batter Abdullah Shafique climbed 25 places to No. 32 after his unbeaten 160 and was named Player of the Match, while off-spinner Sajid Khan rose five places in the bowling list and also improved among all-rounders.
  • Pakistan secured an eight-wicket victory in Port of Spain on August 3 to level the two-Test series 1-1 and end a more than three-year away Test win drought.
  • The rankings gains did not change the bigger picture in the World Test Championship, with both Pakistan and the West Indies remaining in the bottom two of the standings.
