B2C2 Hires Jason Lai to Deepen Ties With Asia-Pacific Family Offices

The Singapore-based appointment is meant to turn rising private-wealth interest in digital assets into institutional trading relationships.

Overview

  • B2C2 has named Jason Lai as a senior adviser in Singapore to build relationships with family offices, asset managers and funds across the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Lai founded Thirdrock Group in 2009 and led Schroders’ Asia wealth unit as CEO and then chairman before leaving earlier this year, bringing deep private-wealth contacts to B2C2.
  • The hire builds on B2C2’s prior Singapore expansion, its application for a Major Payment Institution licence and the appointment of regional executives such as David Rogers and Laura Teo.
  • B2C2 has moved to strengthen its institutional plumbing by becoming a liquidity provider on TP ICAP’s Fusion Digital Assets venue while remaining strictly a business-to-business liquidity provider.
  • Backed by SBI Holdings and bolstered by strong FY2024 revenue and profit, B2C2 is positioning to capture growing demand as regional AUM rises and more family offices add crypto to portfolios.
