Overview
- A Harley-Davidson and a 2010 Ford Explorer collided at the intersection of South Street East and Hill Street in Raynham, and the motorcycle rider was taken to Morton Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
- The deceased was identified as 52-year-old Scott Piche of New Bedford and the SUV driver was identified as 22-year-old Jacob Larsen of Avon, who remained at the scene and spoke with police.
- Prosecutors charged Larsen with motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation as well as operating with a suspended license tied to a prior OUI case, marked lanes violation, and failure to yield.
- Raynham Police were assisted by Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section and Bristol County District Attorney’s Office personnel, who documented vehicle positions and other scene evidence.
- The case will move to arraignment in Taunton District Court and further investigation or forensic findings could affect additional charges or civil liability for the driver.
