- Police in Rosengarten, responding Wednesday evening around 7:30 p.m. after a resident opened a household waste bin in Vahrendorf and found a wrapped infant, said a doctor could only confirm the death.
- A 24-year-old woman from Reinbek identified herself near the scene as the mother and was taken to a hospital because she was not able to be interviewed.
- Criminal police and forensic teams sealed off the area and declined to say what the body was wrapped in to protect the inquiry and the family’s privacy.
- An autopsy on Thursday found no sign of foul play or any criminal act, and police said no further measures will follow.
