Overview
- Douglas County, Nevada, identified the victims as Nicholas Jamil Haddad, 33, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, and Brian Robert Frias, 57, of Elk Grove, California.
- Haddad was involved in an incident on Heavenly’s intermediate Orion trail, while Frias experienced a serious medical event on the Tamarack Return trail.
- Both men were transported to the Boulder Lodge base area by Heavenly Ski Patrol, where Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District crews attempted life-saving measures.
- Deputies responded around 11:55 a.m. on Feb. 20 and confirmed the two incidents were unrelated; the cause and manner of both deaths remain pending.
