Australia Confirms Eight Stadiums for 2027 Rugby World Cup

Organisers blended legacy venues with first-time hosts, with fixtures due on 3 February and a presale window opening 18 February.

Overview

  • Perth Stadium will stage the opener on 1 October 2027, while Stadium Australia in Sydney will host the final on 13 November plus both semi-finals, the third-place play-off, two quarter-finals and two pool matches.
  • Melbourne’s Docklands Stadium will have its retractable roof closed for all eight games, with six pool matches and two round-of-16 fixtures scheduled there.
  • Brisbane Stadium is set for six pool matches, two round-of-16 ties and two quarter-finals, and Adelaide Oval will host six pool games.
  • North Queensland Stadium in Townsville and Newcastle Stadium will make their Rugby World Cup debuts as part of the eight-venue lineup across seven cities.
  • The full match schedule will be released on 3 February, with presale tickets available from 18 February to account holders, and the MCG’s exclusion has been reported as linked to an NFL availability deal.
