AT&T Launches amiGO Jr. Phone and Watch 2 for Kids With Built-In Parental Controls

Carrier-level hardware and software integration pairs Samsung-built devices with the amiGO app to deliver managed screen time, location alerts and $2.99-per-month pricing.

Overview

  • Both products are available now through att.com, the myAT&T app and AT&T retail stores in the United States.
  • Developed with Samsung, the phone is reported to mirror Galaxy A17–class hardware, including a 6.7-inch display, Exynos 1330 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery.
  • Parents manage the device through the free amiGO app with features such as real-time location, Safe Zones, School Mode schedules, approved contacts and app controls.
  • AT&T lists promotional pricing at $2.99 per month for 36 months with service, with full retail at about $209.99 for the phone and $169.99 for the watch.
  • The launch positions AT&T to compete with kids-device specialists like Gabb, Pinwheel and Bark by bundling controls, support and financing at the carrier level.
