Overview
- ASUS launched its first ROG-branded DDR5 memory, a 48GB (2×24GB) kit with a DDR5-6000 CL26 profile at 1.45V and native Intel XMP/AMD EXPO support.
- The kit is priced at 5,999 RMB (about $880–$900) with late-June availability and a lifetime warranty, a price several outlets criticize given current RAM shortages.
- On compatible ROG Crosshair, Maximus, and Strix motherboards, a BIOS “ROG Mode” switches the kit to a higher-bandwidth 8000 MT/s profile at CL36-48-48-110.
- ASUS’s in-house overclocker pushed the modules to 8800 MT/s at CL34 on a ROG Crosshair X870E APEX with a Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 using 1.70V and water cooling, a short RunMemtestPro pass that shows headroom rather than a guaranteed spec.
- The modules were co-developed with BIWIN using SK Hynix M-Die chips, and ASUS announced a ROG Certified Memory Program naming 14 partner makers including Corsair, G.Skill, and Kingston.
