Overview
- The Assam State School Education Board issued a notification on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, that eligible students in Charaideo, Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat can get duplicate HSLC/AHM and Higher Secondary pass certificates, admit cards, marksheets and registration cards free of charge.
- Applicants must apply online through SEBA's portal (sebaservices.in) for HSLC/AHM documents or the AHSEC portal (ahsec.assam.gov.in) for Higher Secondary documents and follow the usual application steps except for the fee waiver.
- The board removed the long-standing requirement to upload a police report and will accept a self-declaration certifying flood impact instead, simplifying access for those who lost papers in the floods.
- Officials said the waiver is a one-time special relief with no fixed application deadline and that the board is coordinating with schools by phone, email and WhatsApp to assist students who face network or access problems.
- The measure is part of a wider education relief package that includes replacement textbooks from August 1, extra funds for uniforms in some districts and cash grants of Rs 1,000 for higher secondary, Rs 3,000 for degree and Rs 5,000 for postgraduate students in affected areas.
