Assam Issues ADRE Appointment Letters to Thousands in Grade III and IV Rounds

The centralized hiring drive, described by the state as transparent and litigation‑free, is slated to finish remaining placements by February 10 as other states examine the model.

Overview

  • More than 6,000 Grade III candidates received appointment letters in Guwahati on January 10, with the ceremony held at the Sarusajai sports complex.
  • On January 9, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma handed appointment letters to 4,374 ADRE Grade IV selectees at the Jyoti–Bishnu Antarjatik Kala Mandir in Khanapara.
  • The Chief Minister said the process maintained zero corruption and reported no High Court cases, crediting safeguards such as internet shutdowns and strict checks to prevent malpractices.
  • Officials said the drive has delivered roughly 1.56 lakh regular government jobs over five years, with the total targeted to reach about 1.60 lakh once the current cycle concludes by February 10.
  • Sarma said more than 15 states have studied or begun adopting the ADRE framework, and a third phase of recruitment is planned after the Assam Assembly elections.
