Ashes of Creation CEO Denies Claims From Leaked Ledger, Says Court Filing Is Next

The dispute now moves to federal court with the document’s authenticity still unverified.

Overview

  • NefasQS published what it says is Intrepid Studios’ 2015–2026 general ledger on Saturday, alleging company money paid for a private chef, $41,717 on historical auction sites, a $421.91 luxury cigar purchase, and large tabs at trading card and miniature shops.
  • The ledger also lists an $81,166 payment to Gore Oil, which the report notes held the deed to CEO Steven Sharif and John Moore’s San Diego mansion sold in April 2020.
  • Sharif rejected the claims in a new statement, calling the material false and defamatory, denying any misuse of Kickstarter funds, and saying he will file more evidence in federal court.
  • The video’s publisher did not disclose the source of the ledger and says figures were cross-checked with unnamed sources and former staff, and they reported a YouTube privacy complaint and Reddit reports after the post.
  • Ashes of Creation raised about $3.27 million on Kickstarter and reportedly sold roughly 300,000 Early Access copies before Intrepid Studios shut down about 52 days after launch, a collapse now entangled in a legal fight in which Sharif earlier won a temporary restraining order.
