Asda to Roll Out 700 Self-Service Laundry Machines Across UK Stores in May

Partnership with ME Group broadens in-store services by letting shoppers do laundry during a grocery trip.

Overview

  • The companies announced Wednesday a plan to deploy 700 Wash. ME units across Asda Supercentres, Superstores, supermarkets and Express sites.
  • Installations start in May 2026, with many locations set to offer round-the-clock access to washing and drying.
  • Each site will feature 9kg and 20kg machines that use energy-saving cycles and high-speed drying to handle everyday and bulky loads.
  • ME Group calls the agreement its largest single-client deal in laundry and links it to a strategy that saw 1,326 Wash. ME installs in 2025.
  • Asda says the service aims to save time by combining errands, while details such as specific store lists and pricing have not been announced.
