Arunachal Pradesh Raises DA, DR to 60% From January 1, 2026

The state follows central orders to offset inflation in compensation.

  • Arunachal Pradesh, which announced the move Wednesday, raised cost-of-living pay and pension add-ons by 2 percentage points to 60% of basic pay or pension.
  • The hike covers about 1,09,725 people, including roughly 69,248 employees and 40,477 pensioners.
  • Arrears for January through April 2026 will be paid in cash, with higher amounts flowing in monthly pay and pensions from May.
  • Officials pegged the yearly cost at Rs 100.54 crore, plus Rs 33.51 crore for arrears, taking the total impact this year to about Rs 117.30 crore.
  • The state said it is adopting central office memos issued April 22 and April 24, which revise inflation-linked DA and DR for government staff and retirees.
