Arunachal Governor Launches MSME Transformation Drive, Backs CII Skills Institute

Overview

• The Business Transformation Programme for micro and small entrepreneurs was launched in Itanagar as a year-long membership and handholding effort that drew strong participation from local businesses.
• Governor K. T. Parnaik urged investment in priority areas including tourism, waste management, coaching for competitive exams, preservation of local languages, and community information and service kiosks.
• He emphasized that enterprise growth depends on capabilities in business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and adoption of modern technologies.
• Parnaik welcomed a Confederation of Indian Industry proposal to set up a Multi Skill Training Institute to provide industry-aligned training for youth in the state.
• Officials cited nearly 50,000 registered MSMEs across key sectors and 106 startups incubated over four years, 38% led by women, as momentum for the initiative.
