Governor K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu held separate meetings on December 13 with DGBR Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan to assess progress in the Tawang sector.
The reviews covered strengthening connectivity to border areas, regular maintenance, and protocols for swift restoration when routes are disrupted.
Leaders acknowledged the December 7 virtual inauguration by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh of 10 roads and 22 bridges delivered under the Arunank, Udayak, Vartak and Brahmank projects.
Khandu highlighted high-altitude execution challenges and pressed for timely completion to enhance military mobility and civilian travel.
Parnaik commended BRO’s humanitarian outreach, including medical camps and Play & Learning Rooms, as the DG assured sustained delivery of high-quality infrastructure.
