Overview
- The 30th Excellence in Production Design Awards were presented Saturday at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, with the guild releasing the full slate of winners across film, television, animation, commercials and short-form work.
- Feature winners were “Frankenstein” (Period), “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” (Fantasy) and “One Battle After Another” (Contemporary), while “KPop Demon Hunters” won animated feature following a recent run at the Annie Awards and VES Awards.
- Television honorees included “Palm Royale,” “Andor,” “Severance,” “The Studio,” “Mid-Century Modern” and “Monster: The Ed Gein Story,” with “Saturday Night Live” recognized for both a regular episode and its 50th anniversary special.
- Production designer Florencia Martin earned two trophies, winning for “One Battle After Another” and for Prada’s “Galleria Bag” commercial.
- Special distinctions went to Jon M. Chu with the Cinematic Imagery Award, Rep. Laura Friedman with the President’s Award following remarks on a national film tax credit and creative-labor protections, a Hall of Fame induction for Thomas E. Sanders, and Lifetime Achievement Awards for Bo Welch, Jann Engel, Tom Southwell and Stephen McNally.
