Overview
- Multiple 911 calls brought firefighters to the Walters Road Walmart, where crews found smoke, flames and the sprinkler system running.
- Suisun City firefighters, joined by units from Fairfield, Vacaville, Vallejo and Travis Air Force Base, contained the fire inside the store.
- Police and fire crews evacuated employees and about 50 customers, and officials reported no injuries.
- Heavy smoke and sprinkler water caused substantial damage to merchandise and the building, and Walmart has closed the store until further notice with prescriptions redirected to Fairfield and Vacaville locations.
- Investigators have opened an arson case and are asking anyone with information to contact the Suisun City Fire Department.
