Overview
- Arriva filed expanded applications with the Dutch regulator (ACM) on Wednesday to add two daily return trips between Amersfoort and Paris and three daily return trips between Den Haag HS and Paris.
- The company named Antwerp and Brussels as planned intermediate stops and said the services would complement an earlier Groningen–Paris proposal from 2023.
- Arriva proposed 1 February 2028 as a target start date while saying the launch could happen sooner if the necessary approvals and capacity are granted.
- Before any trains run, Arriva must secure ACM clearance and apply for track capacity and timetable coordination with rail infrastructure managers in the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
- The Municipality of The Hague welcomed the plan for improved international access but analysts note Arriva currently runs only limited domestic services, so operational scale and prior delays make the timetable uncertain.
