Armored Mewtwo Returns to Pokémon GO for Two-Day Go Fest Raid Window

The limited run marks a key anniversary push that expands Mega Pokémon options in the GO Battle League.

Overview

  • Scopely confirmed Monday that Armored Mewtwo will appear in five‑star raids during Go Fest 2026: Mega Finale on September 5 and 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time.
  • The studio said the Armored form will not be available as a Shiny during this return, so all captures will be non‑Shiny variants.
  • Starting with Mega Finale, eligible Mega Pokémon will gain a third Charged Attack that can be used in the GO Battle League but not in Gym Battles, and the attack’s power scales with a Pokémon’s Mega Level.
  • Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y will get new Adventure Effects and moves for the event: Mega Mewtwo X gains Dynamic Punch+ to boost damage in Mega and Super Mega Raids, and Mega Mewtwo Y gains Future Sight+ to highlight encounters that yield three‑star or higher Pokémon.
  • Armored Mewtwo first appeared as a 2019 movie tie‑in and last returned in early 2020, so this event gives many players who missed earlier runs a rare capture chance; the return of the Clone Pokémon from 2019 remains unconfirmed.
