Overview
- Officers were called at about 2:55 p.m. on February 4 after reports that three men threatened another group and stole two electric bikes in Dovecot.
- Armed units, a helicopter and a dog team moved into the area, with officers seen aiming rifles at a property and streets briefly closed near Lynsted and Lunsford roads.
- Two men, aged 25 and 21, were arrested in the operation and have been bailed pending further enquiries.
- Merseyside Police now say the incident is being investigated as a theft after initial reports suggested a firearm that was later confirmed not to have been seen.
- Detectives reviewed CCTV, conducted house-to-house enquiries and sought to recover the suspected stolen bikes, with information requests issued to the public.
