Arkansas Lands 6'11" Russian Big Ilia Frolov
Frolov brings size and shooting to a thin Razorbacks frontcourt that coaches will evaluate on a planned Bahamas exhibition trip.
Overview
- Ilia Frolov committed to Arkansas on June 18 and is expected to join the 2026–27 roster after an on-campus visit and staff evaluation.
- The 6-foot-11 prospect played for Real Madrid’s Under-22 team, averaging 13.5 points and 7.4 rebounds while shooting roughly 53% from the floor and 36% from three.
- Arkansas recruited Frolov to address a clear frontcourt need and to add a floor-spacing center who can stretch defenses with outside shooting.
- Frolov enters a crowded incoming group that includes five-star freshmen such as Miikka Muurinen, Jordan Smith Jr., Abdou Toure and JJ Andrews, creating immediate rotation and chemistry questions for the staff.
- The Razorbacks will take a summer trip to The Bahamas to play four games in five days, which will give coaches early game reps to test Frolov and other new pieces together.
