Overview
- ARK and Securitize began issuing a tokenized Class D share of the ARK Venture Fund and processed the first onchain USDC subscriptions on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026.
- Each token represents a 1:1 onchain claim on ARKVX shares held with BNY Mellon as custodian, with Securitize handling issuance, investor onboarding and daily NAV reporting.
- Subscriptions and redemptions are recorded on the Ethereum network and settled against the fund’s official end-of-day NAV rather than a spot market price.
- Tokenization does not put the fund’s private holdings onchain; investors gain fund-level exposure to companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe and Databricks rather than direct tradable tokens of those firms.
- The launch follows an SEC amended order issued Sept. 21 and ARK’s prior investment in Securitize, and it pushed Securitize’s shares higher while signaling a tested, regulated path for more tokenized capital-market products even as the fund’s quarterly ~5% repurchase windows remain the primary liquidity constraint.
