Ariel Unveils Atom 4RR, Its Fastest Road-Legal Track Car

Race-grade parts with a hand-built Honda-based engine deliver hypercar pace in a road-legal track tool.

Overview

  • Ariel revealed the Atom 4RR Thursday as its 25th‑anniversary flagship and opened orders from £208,000 before taxes.
  • A hand-built, Honda‑based 2.0‑liter engine takes about 100 hours to assemble and delivers up to 525 bhp at an 8,200 rpm redline with three selectable maps.
  • With a stated weight of 657–669 kg, the 4RR claims 0–62 mph in 2.4 seconds and 0–100 mph in 5.1, yielding more than 780 bhp per tonne.
  • Track hardware includes adjustable Öhlins dampers, AP Racing 310 mm two‑piece discs with four‑piston calipers, an 11‑stage ABS, forged wheels, Yokohama A052 tires, and F1‑style aero.
  • Each car is built to order in Crewkerne with options like a plated differential, electronic dampers, a motorsport roll cage, and on‑board air jacks, and Ariel says numbers will be extremely limited.
