Argentina’s Used-Car Sales Dip 2.6% in April

Costly, scarce financing is holding back a faster recovery.

Overview

  • The CCA said Sunday that April logged 154,792 used-car transfers, down 2.62% from a year earlier but 0.52% higher than March.
  • Sales for January through April reached 592,086 vehicles, a 4.56% decline from the same period in 2025.
  • CCA secretary Alejandro Lamas said banks and finance firms are offering rates and terms buyers cannot use, which is limiting demand.
  • Lamas also warned that big gaps in asking prices across dealers are confusing shoppers and slowing deals, leaving the market unstable.
  • Regional trends split, with La Rioja up 24.73% from March as the interior holds steadier, while the Buenos Aires metro continues with lower volumes.
